Wir freuen uns im Rahmen der TQW research Affiliation drei Künstler*innen in unser artistic research Labor einladen zu können. Der Fokus des Labors liegt auf der kollektiven künstlerischen Wiederholung/Aktualisierung vergangener Performances. Wir leihen uns fremde Erinnerungen an die Performance Wer will kann kommen (2010) von Barbara Kraus, um diese als gleich (sameness) und doch anders (difference) zu rekonstruieren. Es handelt sich um eine Suche nach der gleichen Performance in einem anderen Körper, zu einer anderen Zeit. Das bietet uns Forschungsmaterial, um uns der Frage zu widmen, wie sich Zeit in einer performativen Arbeit ablegt, wie wir die vergangene Zeit im eigenen Körper verdichten und transformieren können. Wir wenden einer zeitlichen Linearität den Rücken zu, zeichnen spiralförmige Kreise der Wiederholung und springen wie Doctor Who durch die Zeiten. Eine erste Annäherung an die vergangene Performance wagen wir anhand von im TQW vorgefundenem Dokumentationsmaterial und aufgezeichneter Oral History.

Die künstlerisch-forscherische Methode für diese Untersuchung ist kollektiv angelegt, daher sind wir auf der Suche nach Kompliz*innen. Für das Labor möchten wir drei Künstler*innen einladen, die drei Nachmittage mit uns kollektiv und prozessorientiert forschend ein-, unter- und wieder aufzutauchen. Wir freuen uns auf Einreichungen von Künstler*innen mit performativer Praxis und eigenen künstlerischen Ansätzen der Wiederholung aber vor allem Freude am gemeinsamen Probieren und Experimentieren.

Bei Interesse sendet uns bitte bis MI, 18.05.2022 eine Beschreibung eures Interesses und (mind. drei) Arbeitsproben (digitale Bild- und Textmaterialien wie z.B. Portfolio, Links zu Webseite oder Videos) an performatorium.info@gmail.com. Das TQW bietet je Kompliz*in ein Honorar von 240€ an.

We are pleased to invite three artists* to our artistic research lab as part of the TQW research affiliation. The focus of the lab is on the collective artistic repetition/actualisation of past performances. We borrow strange memories on the performance Wer will kann kommen (2010) of Barbara Kraus to reconstruct this past performance as the same yet different. It is a search for the same performance in a different body, at a different time. This offers us research material to address the question of how time is stored in a performative work, how we can condense and transform past time in our own bodies. We turn our backs on temporal linearity, draw spiral circles of repetition, and jump through time like Doctor Who. We will venture a first approach to the past performance on the basis of documentary material found in the TQW and recorded oral history.

The artistic research method for this investigation is collective, so we are looking for accomplices*. For the lab we would like to invite three artists* to spend three afternoons with us researching collectively and in a process-oriented way. We are looking forward to submissions from artists* with a performative practice and their own artistic approaches to repetition but above all joy in trying and experimenting together.

Open Call

Together with you we want to continue what we set out to do when we started the Performatorium: sharing. In this times of turbo-capitalist, neo-colonialist, fascist, racist and anti-feminist forces on the move, let’s counter-act and be together (to quote do!), let’s practice our solidarity skills, train our social muscles (Social Muscle Club), and share space, time and knowledge of something we love to do: Performance. Our performance laboratory will stay self organized and based on participation as well as exchange as long as we manage doing so, fully aware of the problematic precarious status it implicates – but also of it’s potentials and free spaces that are so soothing and healing sometimes! Thus this is a call to create something together, to build a common space, a community also as a solidary force one can rely on, draw resources from, but also put something back when feeling ready for it!

Inputs for future Performatorium sessions:
If you are up for sharing your own performative, activist and/or queer*feminist practices, methods or techniques in form of workshop-based or discursive inputs, please contact us (performatorium.info@gmail.com) . In return you will get no money (sorry for that, for what it’s worth, we don’t get any either…), but you will get a lot of knowledge and love from other people. We are looking forward to planing the Performatorium together.

Gemeinsam mit Euch möchten wir das fortsetzen was wir uns vorgenommen haben als wir mit dem Performatorium begonnen haben: teilen. Lasst uns, in Zeiten der erstarkenden turbo-kapitalistischen, neo-kolonialistischen, faschistischen, rassistischen und antifeministischen Kräfte, dagegen halten und zusammen sein (um do! zu zitieren), uns in unseren solidarischen Fertigkeiten üben, unsere sozialen Muskeln trainieren (Social Muscle Club) und Raum, Zeit und Wissen teilen, über das was wir gerne tun: Performance. Solange es uns möglich ist bleibt unser Performancelabor selbstorganisiert und basierend auf Partizipation wie auch Austausch, im vollen Bewusstsein über den problematischen, prekären Zustand, der damit verbunden ist – aber auch über die Potentiale und Freiräume, die manchmal so beruhigend und heilend sein können! Dies ist also ein Aufruf etwas gemeinsam zu schaffen, zusammen einen Raum zu bauen, eine Gemeinschaft, auch als solidarische Kraft, auf die eine*r bauen kann, Ressourcen ziehen kann, aber an die auch etwas zurückgeben werden kann, wenn er*sie dafür bereit ist!

Wenn ihr eure eigenen performativen, aktivistischen und/oder queer*feministischen Praktiken, Methoden oder Techniken in Form von Workshops oder diskursiven Beiträgen teilen möchtet, schreibt uns doch einfach (performatorium.info@gmail.com). Entlohnt werdet ihr leider nicht mit Geld (entschuldigt bitte! Falls es von Bedeutung ist: wir ebensowenig…), stattdessen wird euch Wissen und Liebe der anderen Teilnehmer*innen zuteil. Wir freuen uns darauf das Performatorium gemeinsam zu planen.
